Scholastic Princess /Pirate Potty Books and Boon Potty Seat Giveaway

{CLOSED}

Getting ready to start the potty training process this year? We will be shortly, and I've come to find out that Allie doesn't want any part of it. Both of my boys were starting out at this age, but Allie just won't have it. For the time being, we're busy reading the Princess Potty book from Scholastic to help ease her transition from diapers to "big girl" panties.

Whether you've got a little princess or pirate, Scholastic has created a book with rewards to motivate your little one to use the potty. Both books provide a helpful, step-by-step story that introduces girls & boys to the concept of toilet training. Pirate Potty is a pirate-themed, toilet-training book that is fit for the little swashbuckler in your life!  Includes a pirate’s hat and reward stickers! Princess Potty follows the same theme…a toilet-training book that is fit for the Royal Highness in your life!  This book includes tiara and reward stickers!

Toilet-Training Tips:
  • Use the rewards to celebrate your child's toilet triumphs
  • Teach your toddler to let you know when they have to go
  • Create a routine that gets your child comfortable with the potty
  • Read through the Pirate/Princess book to help explain the process of using the bathroom
  • Always give your child praise in their efforts

Even if your child isn't ready to learn yet, the potty books will introduce them to the process in a fun storybook adventure. I love the little tunes sung in the book. My older boys got a laugh out of it, which motivates Allison even more.

Both potty books from Samantha Berger can be purchased at Amazon.com for $5.99 each.

Giveaway
One Grand Prize winner receives a Prize Pack including:
Two First Prize winners receive:
  • Copy of both books!

This giveaway is open to all US residents and will end February 15. The books featured were provided free of cost to me for the sole purpose of this review. Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation.

I like giving rewards like stickers when they use the potty and not pressuring them with a lot of questions. It's important to remember that they will all use the potty in their own time. There is nothing like postive reinforcement, a big hug, and a sticker to motivate them!

well my nephew just started potty training. he's sitting or right now. but he'll be standing soon enough, his nana suggested cheerio's in the toilet to make a game out of it, but it sounds risky/messy to me! We'll see : )>

thanks

I learned with my daughter - to wait until she was ready - this meant waiting until she was almost 3yrs. I thought that she was behind but she learned to use the potty in 2 days! So now with my little guy (he'll be 2 soon) - I'm waiting for him to try. BUT we do still encourage him to use and sit on the potty.

We used M&Ms with our oldest and now we're doing the same with our youngest. They LOVE them! My oldest also likes to "show" my youngest how to potty. (monkey see, monkey do!)Maybe between the chocolate & the observing my youngest will have it down in no time! Thanks for the chance!

First make sure they are ready, pushing a kid to use the potty will just make it harder. I had a chart in the bath with pictures of each step ex: wiping, flushing, washing hands and each time she did it right she got a check mark.

What an awesome giveaway. We have three toddlers ages 2, 3 and 4 and dream about the day we pack away the diapers for good. My best training tip from our eldest is to not push and wait for the child to be ready. We made toilet training a lot of fun and a learning game and when he was finally ready it was a very quick process. I also learned that all children learn toilet training differently. We are finishing training with our 3 year old daughter and just started with our two year old.

You definitely have to figure out what motivates them. My oldest didn't want to be wet so putting him in big boy "unders" made him pee in the potty regularly . . . and he loves his milk so he learned if he pooped, he got milk and he pretty much does it on command now. Crazy!

I've potty trained one child and my best advice is to NOT rush your child. This is something they have to do - otherwise , it's a nightmare for everyone.
