New Years Resolutions

During this time of year, we sit back and look at the things we want to change and make better not only this new year but for years to come as well.

I always make resolutions, but they never really become a reality for me. This year I'm making goals that I will try my darndest to stick to. All are important, and need to be done so we can live happily in our home.

1. Save money. I will save my money by using coupons, buying while on sale, and staying away from the things we want, but don't need. I've also decided to use a savings tracker to help us keep up with what we are spending and what we are saving.

2. Better my marriage. Counseling is needed for not only me and my husband, but I think as a family as well. My husband has a great heart, and is a fun-going person. That's why I married him. But, he needs to settle down a little now, and get back on his meds for bi-polar and ADD.

3. Quit Smoking. Cigarettes cost too much these days. I smoke a pack a day, and my husband does as well. That's at least 10 dollars+ daily, $70 a week, and about $300 a month. Not only that, it is unhealthy. I've tried quitting before with the patch and gum, but it doesn't help. I'm hoping to get on the medication.

These are my top priorities for this year. I have other small goals and wants in mind, but they really aren't necessary. It'd be great to do them, but it's not a must.

  • We want to go on a vacation. We've haven't left this small town since Allie was born. I want her to go to the zoo for sure. Heck, if I quit smoking, that'll be the money right there.
  • Lose weight. I'm 145 lbs., which isn't that bad. But, I don't like my mommy tummy, or thunder thighs. Changing my diet and working out are two things I really need to do for myself.

I'm working on mama pooch this year. I am afraid it's with me for life though. I have made it back to my goal weight last year and it's still there. We just bought an ab machine so I'll see how that goes. I'll be doing updates on the blog as well. I'm praying you and hubby get back on track.
