TNT Raising the Bar "No Child Left Behind"
With the ever growing popularity of social media, more and more parents are posting photos of their children online. Have you? I know I have. These thought harmless photos or videos can wind up in the wrong person's hands, as in the upcoming episode of TNT's Raising the Bar. In the episode, set to air Monday, June 29 at 10:00/9:00 PM Central time, a father is arrested after innnocent photos her posted of his son in the bathtub gets onto a child pornography site.
It really made me think about all the pictures you see of cute nakie babies online in another way. We would never willingly give sickos these kinds of photos to use, but like the show is saying, it could very easily happen. I think I will use a little more caution when posting my family pictures, just in case.
RAISING THE BAR, which is executive-produced by Emmy winner Steven Bochco (Hill Street Blues, NYPD Blue), follows the cases and lives of young lawyers who work on opposite sides – the public defender’s office and the district attorney’s office – as well as those who sit in judgment on their cases. Mark-Paul Gosselaar ( also known as Zack on Saved By The Bell) stars as idealistic defender Jerry Kellerman, while Gloria Reuben (ER) plays his passionate and protective boss, Rosalind Whitman. And Jane Kaczmarek (Malcolm in the Middle) plays imperious Judge Trudy Kessler, who has dreams of becoming the next district attorney.
My husband and I have never seen this show before actually until last night. I was very intriguied, and since I'm a mom of 3 kids and also a blogger, this story really hit home. I'd definately recommend watching this one. Even though it's not true, I felt for the father. I could only imagine what it would be like in that situation. And, even though I don't want to admit it, I know pedophiles could very easily see the pictures of my children. I could only hope this would never really happen in real life. But it makes you wonder.

MIA For A Bit
My husband, Brandon, was in an accident Friday afternoon and had to have emergency surgery on his foot. One of his toes was amputated, and he just had surgery again this morning. I've been in and out all weekend. The doctor told me after the surgery Friday it's one of the worst he's seen, and he's worked in Afghanistan. He's coming home today though. He's got three cracked bones in his foot, and one toe less than before. He's doing fine though. I'll post pictures later in the week, they aren't too gross to look at! Depending on how much time I've got this week, I'll post the deals. The giveaway for the $15 gift card ends tonight, so enter in that! The Natural Dentist
The Natural Dentist offers a variety of mouthwashes and toothpastes made with finest, natural ingredients. Another addition to our "better earth" project in my house! The Natural Dentist contains no alcohol, dyes, artificial sweeteners, or preservatives.
I tried out the Anti-gingivitis mouthwash and the Healthy Teeth and Gums toothpaste. I've never been a fan of "strong-burn your mouth" mouthwash. I just don't like that feel. The Natural Dentist mouthwash did not burn, even the tiniest bit, and it tastes a lot like baking soda. And, surprisingly, I don't wake up with bad breath!
The Natural Dentist toothpaste is also great too. It keeps my breath fresh throughout the day. I love the taste, and the way it makes my teeth feel. The Natural Dentist also has a line of toothpastes for the kids too. But I'm just wondering, if it's all natural, why do you need a separate one for children? Just a thought....

"Mommy! She's Naked!"
While I was cooking earlier, my boys run in the house and all I hear is "She's naked, mama!"
Allie is in the house, so I know it's not her. They wouldn't make a fuss about that. She's always yanking her clothes off and running through the house.
"What?"
My oldest, Caleb, tells me there's a little girl outside next door. And, she has no clothes on.!
I'm thinking it's the little baby girl that visits sometimes. She's not even my daughter's age. But, they go to the window and show me. The little girl is at least Caleb's age. I'd say 6.
I find this a little disturbing. I could understand if the girl was in the backyard. We've all got the big wood fences. But, there they are bare-bottomed, running through the sprinkler. And they are school age girls. I would never let my boys run naked in the front yard. And, we're a little bit country. They'll pee in the backyard over the toilet any day.
Honestly, what if one of our neighbors was a pedophile? We hear all the time, "I never imagined that would happen here. Not in our neighborhood." I will admit we are very fortunate to live in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood. But weirdos come in all walks of life. What do you think about this? Would you let your daughter run around the yard like that where every one could see her? Her parents are right there, just allowing it. Or, am I just overreacting? I don't like for my daughter to strip down outside, I don't let her. And she's 2.
