Old Navy Weekly- Huge Savings!
I have never snagged one of the high dollar coupons yet, but I'm hoping to. I've just got to be more on top of it. I've heard they are going to reset the coupons on Old Navy Weekly this Sunday. So, I'm going to try my best to get a good deal!
You really have to check this out! Basically, you just click around on the Old Navy Weekly website and find coupons you can print to use in the store. You can only use one coupon per week, but there are some great ones up for grabs! The hottest one is the $75 off $100 purchase, that's what everyone's going for. There are only a certain number of coupons though. I don't know much any tips on upping your chances or anything, maybe someone can please let me know?

I'm a junk food junkie. I snack throughout the day. At our house, we snack on cereal all the time. In fact, it's our sweet treat of choice. Most cereals on the shelf at Walmart are full of sugar and things my kids don't really need. They are hyper enough, we don't need the extra sugar rush.Lucky Charms is probably not the healthiest, but my kids love it. They want that just to eat the marshmallows out. They don't even eat the cereal. So, naturally, I don't buy it. And, since my kids are picky eaters, they normally do not like the cereals we think of as healthy.

I named mine Kimmie's granola. Customize your own organic, all natural granola mix from more than fifty ingredients. The ordering process is very simple. Here's all you do:

Busy Moms Need Minute Rice (Coupons)
Like most moms, I'm always busy. My day consists of taking the kids to school, feeding them at least 3 meals a day, engaging them in activities( other than Spongebob and the Xbox), cleaning the house, running errands, and the list seems to never end.
I love to come across meals that are easy to prepare and make quickly for our family of 5. With a busy schedule, Minute Rice can make a load of a difference. Especially the knew ready to serve cups. I was fortunate enough to try these, and I'm liking what I'm seeing.

I am not going to lie. I don't know much about "living green". I'd like to help the environment more, and there are a lot of resources out there to help in this day and age. We do recycle, but that's it. I'm kinda ashamed to admit that. I want to do more to help our home be a more healthy, beautiful place, now and in the future. I am honored to have interviewed an awesome lady, JoAnn Ciaramello and she is the founder of Planet Threads, an online boutique that sells earth-friendly clothing for men and women of all ages. JoAnn is a WAHM from Connecticut, the mom of two boys, for whom living sustainably has always been the norm. She is sharp, funny, and articulate about her passions for both sustainability and style.
1. Can you tell us more about who you are professionally and personally?
I’ve always been in business in one form or another. I have a degree in business concentrated in e-commerce and a background in law and banking. Personally I am a mom of two boys and eco-entrepreneur. I’ve been environmentally aware my whole life. My parents instilled it in me at a young age and I credit them for my innate sense of how to live sustainably. Recycling, eating locally grown produce, and purchasing only what is necessary are practices and values that I have passed down to my two boys. I have also always loved fashion – my mother used to knit and sew, and I saw it as a love for fashion in its purest and simplest form. PlanetThreads.com was born when I realized I was doing so much online shopping out of necessity (as a busy mom of two boys) and I wanted to create a fashionable hub for eco-friendly clothing designers.
2. What does it mean to be “green” today?
In essence, being green means being thoughtful about the environment and our impact on it. This thoughtfulness takes on different forms. Being thoughtful regarding what we are eating everyday and how buying it locally helps farmers continue to plant year after year. Being thoughtful regarding what we wear everyday and how the cotton and materials used to create the garments use high levels of pesticides and chemical fertilizers to produce artificial results for perfect crops. How garments originate in certain areas of the world where there aren’t labor laws to protect workers or provide fair wages. Also being thoughtful regarding how our government and politicians react to environmental issues – is it with disregard or with respect? 3. What are simple things that my family and I can do to be greener?
Every time we open our wallets we have a choice as consumers, a powerful choice, about what businesses and brands we are going to support. Changing our purchasing habits is a simple way to be greener, and this doesn’t necessarily mean spending more money. We buy food all of the time, almost every day, so give organic food stores or farmer’s markets a try. We buy clothing, so try a few pieces from an eco-friendly clothing store, such as PlanetThreads.com! See for yourself what the difference is. 4. How do you manage your time as a work-at-home-mother?
The age-old question can we have it all, right? I have a hard time because I want to fit everything in – exercising, working, helping out at the school, being the best mom, friend, wife that I can be... the list goes on. I try to do it all, but I also know that I really can’t do everything, so I try not to sweat it.
5. What are the benefits of buying eco-friendly clothing?
When you buy eco-friendly and sustainable clothing, you are helping to eliminate the use of pesticides and fertilizers in clothing which causes damage to the environment and negatively impacts our health. You are also supporting forward-thinking individuals that are designers, salespeople, store owners, garment producers and more. People who are trying to make a living, but they also want to make the world a little better while working.
6. Who are your favorite eco-friendly designers?
All of them! I have so much respect for them. Many of them have worked at one point in time for major fashion houses and were exposed to the ugly side of fashion. They have witnessed how these garments were produced overseas, and the harmful chemical process of growing the raw materials to create these beautiful garments. These designers wanted to create beautiful clothing with eco-friendly and sustainable materials and without unfair labor practices, excess waste and environmental pollution.
7. How can you be environment-friendly on a tight budget? I've heard it's expensive.
Not expensive at all. Of course there are some expensive clothing designers in the eco-friendly market just as there are in the mainstream contemporary and designer markets, however there are also so many designers using eco-friendly and sustainable fabrics that are doing so purposefully at affordable prices to bust up the notion that earth-friendly clothing is overpriced, boring and lacks style. Toggery by Kate D’Arcy was one of the first designers to do this. Their shirts start at $30 and are better quality, better fitting and better colors than the major brands we all know – not to mention made of organic cotton! And this isn’t just true in fashion. Earth-friendly cleaning supplies from brands like Seventh Generation aren’t more expensive than other cleaning supplies. You can buy recycled toilet paper at drugstores and supermarkets now – it’s that easy. Trader Joe’s carries organic foods at a fraction of the price of major supermarkets non-organic foods. Simply put, the majority of eco-friendly items are budget friendly, but this fact is still not widely known, and we all need to work on spreading the word.
8. How can I teach my kids to be more environment-friendly?
I find that my kids follow my lead (most of the time anyway) and they’re just ready to do anything that’s a little fun too!
It’s pretty simple actually, but it starts with mom (and dad) changing their practices and setting the example. Teaching them what recycling means, showing them items that are made of something else that was recycled makes them see the larger picture. Also the idea of re-using sparks creativity and imagination. Having kids think of creative way to re-use items will not only save money but also the environment. Hands down, if we as parents are environmentally conscious and display good choices and practices, then our children will follow our lead.
9. What are the hot fashions right now for moms?
Tops with little ruffles are so cute and totally in right now. Anything off-the-shoulder is fun too. Rompers are a huge trend now too. I really like the idea of lounge wear or lingerie pieces worn as day wear. Lingerie is so delicately made and lightweight that it’s perfect for the summer. Pair it with a boyfriend sweater and jeans and the look is sophisticated and unique. Turquoise blue, yellow, orange and the neutrals are big for this summer. Dressing eco-friendly is very cool right now – just look at all of the stars in Hollywood!! Many of them wear eco fashion regularly. I really try to ensure that PlanetThreads.com has items that are on-point with the trend and also made from earth-friendly materials by quality companies.
10. How did you start your own business?
I simply decided to work at something that I was proud of doing, involving things that I was interested in and challenged by, with the end-goal of making a difference in my life, for my family and future generations.

Getting Started with Coupons
I have just recently become addicted to couponing. In fact, I started about 2 months ago. But, I am loaded with coupons in my binder, so much that I'm going to have to upgrade to a bigger one soon! Here's where I started.
1. Subscribe to Sunday's paper. I'd suggest subscribing, but I live in a small town, so I choose to go buy the Dallas Paper, they have way more inserts than my town's paper! The typical inserts include Smart Source (SS), Red Plum (RP), and P&G. There is usually a big P&G insert at the beginning of the month, so make sure to get that one!
2. Collect as many inserts as you can! Ask your friends, families, neighbors. Or, you can always buy more.
3. Take advantage of printable coupons. You'll find that there are some high dollar coupons you can print multiple times, and at multiple sites as well. Most often, these coupons are updated at the beginning of the month. Here's a couple sites to get you going:

4. Check the products you buy for coupons inside packaging. Many products come with coupons to buy the same product, and many are high dollar coupons as well.

6. Visit some Coupon Forums/Databases. It is a great place to look if you know what you want, but don't know where to start.
