We think DJ's dad is going to try to get an attorney and take DJ. I think this is actually funny, because there is no way this man could ever win custody over me. This is why I went to court in the first place, because while I was pregnant with Allie, he went to his attorney and had me paying child support. It was coming out of my husband's paycheck, so we had to do something.
One of their close family friends works with my husband, Brandon, They've told us what is going on and what they plan on doing. I want him to go to court, because I will request supervised visits. I think it's crap that I payed my lawyer to do virtually nothing last month. He was more on his father's side than ours.
The attorney general has us on file for a court date for them. I'm thinking he's going to get a lawyer and try to change the arrangement. He had supervised visits years ago, but wouldn't see DJ. It's all on record what he has done, so I've got my mind set to get it back to that. I'm telling my lawyer that, and if doesn't want to do it, I'm NOT going to pay him the $2,000 he wants. Why the heck should I?
We want to discuss all this with his dad, but my hubby keeps on putting it off. I told him the next time he comes to get DJ will be the time to speak. All this anger is just building inside of me, so I'm trying to keep myself together and not blow up at his dad.
My lawyer says it's hard to get supervised visits. Well, hmm, we've already had it done in the past and I didn't even have an attorney then. I'm to the point that I don't want to pay him. I'm paying him to represent us, not be neutral.

What a drag that you ex is being such a pill. I swear it seems like they do it out of ill-will rather than a desire to see/bond with the children. Good luck to you and phooey to your lawyer!
You probably already know this but I think you need another attorney. If the evidence is there you will get supervised visits.
My niece's dad has supervised visits and my sister had no problem getting it.
It sounds like your attorney isn't looking out for your best interests.

Have you looked into a different attorney? Because I wouldn't pay that one a dime--what kind of attorney won't fight for his client?! He doesn't deserve any of your money.
